The Haglöfs Spire Mimic Gilet for women is filled with a superb synthetic material called Mimic Gold, which, as its name suggests, simulates the warming qualities of down, but also adds excellent performance in wet conditions. Strategically placed, unpadded areas allow for greater ease of movement and are fitted with insulating synthetic sheets to eliminate cold spots. The jacket also includes elastic fleece inserts under the arm and in the cuff, for greater elasticity and comfort. Made with Pertex outer fabric with DWR treatment.

It’s a very lightweight fabric. It is a real featherweight with about 30g/m2. They use the thinnest possible thread with the highest number of strands. Being lighter doesn’t mean being more fragile. Pertex Quantum bears witness to this with the best strength-to-weight ratio. Tear strength in extreme use and seam strength are optimum for the weight. It can be used in fitted jackets. However, the abrasion resistance is not comparable to that of a fabric with a standard weight of 44 decitex. The dense fabric of the Pertex Quantum also makes it featherproof.
